Attorney Jennifer D. Cockcroft concentrates her practice area in Land Use & Zoning, Land Use Development, and Real Estate. Attorney Cockcroft has 6 years of experience as a felony prosecutor and over 16 years of experience practicing municipal law. She has experience in real estate matters relating to property acquisitions for right of way and easements, negotiating development agreements with developers, and reviewing all documents associated with land development.
Attorney Cockcroft has represented all City Departments and the City Council in many cities, including Palm Bay, Oviedo, Sanford, Mount Dora and Kissimmee. As part of her duties, she was primarily responsible for representation of the Planning (Land Use and Zoning Department), Building Department, Public Works and Engineering Department and Utilities Department.
From April 2022 to August 2022, Attorney Cockcroft began an intro in working in the area of land development and real estate for private developers and private clients in the South Florida area. Attorney Cockcroft held a Florida real estate associate license from 2015-2019 and intends to reapply in the near future.
Attorney Cockcroft received her Bachelor of Arts undergraduate degree in Legal Studies from the University of Central Florida, Cum Laude in 1994. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Florida in 1997, Cum Laude. She was admitted to the Florida Bar in 2004 and has been a member of the Georgia Bar since 1998.
Attorney Cockcroft was Board Certified by The Florida Bar in Local, City, County Government Law in 2018. She joined the firm of Lacey Lyons Rezanka in December 2022.
Attorney Cockcroft is an Orlando native. She is married and lives in Kissimmee with her husband and two sons. She is an active community volunteer and serves on multiple not for profit boards, including the Friends of Kissimmee Parks, the Osceola High School Touchdown Club, Saint Cloud Youth Football, and In Bounds, Inc.
